Peter Eramram - I joined with fear and doubt, but I am leaving with confidence, purpose, and professional sewing skills.

When I joined Daraja Textile Hub as a Cohort 3 participant, I was shy, quiet, and unsure of myself.

My sewing experience was limited to using a manual sewing machine, and I had never tried freehand cutting or worked with industrial or special machines before.

In the beginning, it was not easy.

I often struggled to keep up with others and doubted my ability to learn.

But through continuous guidance, mentorship, and hands-on practice at the hub, I began to change.

My trainers encouraged me to believe in myself, take on new challenges, and speak up more during group activities.

With time, my confidence started to grow.

I learned how to operate an electric sewing machine and later mastered specialized machines such as the overlock and button-attaching machines.

Each new skill gave me more courage to push forward.

Today, I am proud of how far I’ve come.

I now communicate confidently, work with precision, and believe in my abilities.

The training at Daraja Textile Hub has truly transformed me — not just by giving me technical skills, but by helping me discover my potential and confidence.
